A Piano Sonata

This artwork was inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, which is well known as the “Pathétique”, specifically the third movement: Rondo (Allegro). While this beautiful composition played, it was the very essence of the music that stirred an intuitive response in me, guiding my hand in tracing the structural lines of this artwork.

Although the title came to me later, I believe it was more than suitable.

A Piano Sonata measures 70x147cm. It was painted in 2026 in acrylic paint, pastels, and colouring pencils on watercolour paper (300g).
