Dance With Me
This artwork measures 115x75cm. It was painted with acrylic paint, oil pastels, and colouring pencils on 300g watercolour paper. The intention behind this piece is to invite the audience for a dance. It shows vibrant tones and movements that express the idea of movement, of embrace, and comfort. Looking at it, one can discover different layers and lines which pull the eye to search and by doing so, the mind accepts that invitation to dance.
When I started this piece, I only knew I wanted to use orange as the main colour. Orange is vivid, inviting, brave and audacious. I let the lines dictate where I was going to and then the layers were added. For a moment I felt I had missed the mark and couldn’t rescue it anymore, but I didn’t give up and the result is just so inviting…
